JACK VENTIMILIA

and So I Killed the Leviathan
Written by Kathleen Kronague, Performed at the Rita and Burton Goldberg Theater

Jack Ventimilia is by a large margin, the most empathetic director I’ve had the pleasure of working with. There’s diligence and care in which Jack leads a room– he wants to know everything and assumes he knows nothing. He’s patient, concise, and hears every voice, finding ways to
mesh the group’s opinions with the overall vision of the project. My work has been fundamentally changed by Jack’s touch. I have a few words for anyone with the great blessing of
working with Jack: “You’re so lucky!”’

and So I Killed the Leviathan follows two teenage girls raised in an isolated ultra-conservative
Catholic community. I worked hard with the actors to create the psychological burden of
this upbringing in their imaginations, and constructed a permanent altar upstage,
always present, representing the omnipresence of faith in the two sisters lives.
